Test Plate for New Belt

This will be for a new knights belt. The top and bottom will be belt over the edges of belt. I considering enameling it. This one is ~1.75" long. The words will be located on the top and bottom edge of the belt with just the shield/hydra on the face of the belt. It's going to be a think 1" belt do to my mistake in ordering the white leather.

Untied Laces

It seems it's always a sprint to the finish. I probably need to realize I'm terrible at project time estimation. Which I've inherited from my Dad. When we where kids he'd force us to work for him on his job sites on Saturdays. He was a general contractor so it always involved cleaning up home construction sites.  Early Saturday morning he'd drive my brother Brandon and me out to the construction location and drop us off with a trailer to fill with debris which he would the announce would be "a 3 hour job". 8 hours later we were usually still trying to pack everything into the overfilled trailer.

Ahhh the memories.

I spent a very hot and sweaty weekend trying to stuff my own trailer with the following item for Sir Michael's belt:

Copper ~14 gauge buckle and 18 gauge steel belt plate. Still considering options on adding brass or copper over plate(s) on the steel. Decisions...

Copper and brass chevron's for 3 piece belt tip. Waiting to receive leather to make the steel chevron tip.

Enameled Tiger Company plates. Still awaiting finish cleanup/polish.

Etched brass under plate with steel petal. There are 8 of these(2  for each knighthood). Petal's etched with knighthood order symbol and kingdom he received it from. The enamel just hasn't held up on the test pieces I've done on these. I'll use some paint to inlay the petal.

Copper heraldry plates after counter enamel and dip in the sparex #2.

It may all be moot as the white leather I ordered has been delayed. My supplier's supplier has been out sick so no leather to work with.

Stamp Test

My wife wanted a stamp for her bakery so I thought the etches could work for that. Here is the first test. The brass doesn't take up quite enough ink for a really nice stamp. Maybe after I attach a handle I can get more pressure to apply more ink to the stamp and then to the page. I'll try and get that done this weekend.

The fine lines are really sensitive to the etching process. I need to thicken them up a bit for the next round.
